Irfan Habib is an Indian historian, well-known for his extensive work in the field of medieval Indian history. He was born on August 26, 1931, in India. He studied at Aligarh Muslim University and then completed his Ph.D. at the University of London. Habib is known for his Marxist interpretation of Indian history and has published numerous books and research papers on topics such as economic history, agrarian relations, and the Mughal Empire. He has been a professor at the Department of History at Aligarh Muslim University and has also served as the chairman of the Indian Council of Historical Research. Habib has received several awards for his contributions to history and academia.
